Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Parker Sheffield, 77, of 323 Tremont Drive, Asheboro, NC, died Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at High Point Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 2009, at Central Falls Baptist Church with the Rev. Gerald Hussey and the Rev. C.B. Barr, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.

A native of High Point, NC, Mrs. Sheffield was born December 4, 1931, the daughter of the late Chester and Sue Parker. She was a member of Central Falls Baptist Church where she was the treasurer of the Sunday School and a member of the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sheffield was preceded in death by her oldest son, Steve Sheffield, and her sister, Shirley Harris.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Donald Sheffield, of the home; daughters, Donna Kivett, of Asheboro, Terri Staley, of Ramseur; sons, Jimmy Sheffield and wife, Martha, of Asheboro, Scott Sheffield and wife, Tammy, of Seagrove; sisters, Betty Jo Barr, of Gastonia, NC, Patsy Bunting, of Asheboro; grandchildren, Sonya Hancock , Richard Sheffield, Michael Evans, Michelle Chriscoe, Kim Evans, B.L. Staley, Danielle Sheffield, Daniel Sheffield, Cindy Hayworth, Chris Sheffield; step grandchild, Christopher Biggers; great grandchildren, Michael Hancock, Taylor McMillan, Courtney Chriscoe, Ethan Hayworth, Troy Hayworth, Cody Sheffield, Josh Sheffield and Dana Sheffield.

The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2009, and other times at the home.
