Kenneth Lee Simmons, 76, of 139 Bennett Farm Road, Asheboro, died Saturday, October 31, 2009 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor J.C. Miles officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.

Mr. Simmons was a native of Roanoke, VA and he was retired from Duke Power Company.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Ryder Simmons, of the home; daughters, Tammy Sue Lowe, of Franklinville, Dreama Rahimipour, of Charlotte, Jennifer S. Duncan, of Asheboro; sons, Larry Eugene Simmons, of Asheville, Kenneth Lee Simmons, Jr., of Asheboro; sisters, Pauline Thurman, of Roanoke, VA, Emma Jean Lucas, of Ramseur, Barbara Alice Martin, of Asheboro, Patricia Ann Nichols, of Roanoke, VA; eleven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday and other times at the home.
