Mr. Jasper Ray Jenkins, Jr., 70, of 1032 Pearl Court, Randleman, died Wednesday, October 28, 2009, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 2, 2009, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ray Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.

Born on July 14, 1939, in Guilford County, Mr. Jenkins was the son of the late Jasper Jenkins, Sr. and Pearl Jackson Jenkins. He was a retired truck driver and teamster member of Local 391. He was of the Methodist faith. He enjoyed camping, going to the beach, and spending time with his family and his girls.

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia C. Jenkins, of the home; daughters, Melissa C. Brigman and husband, Eddie, of Asheboro, Pam H. Gwynn and husband, Jessie, of Elon College; sons, Barry Ray Jenkins and wife, Laura, of Greensboro, Bo Houff and wife, Beth, of Lewisville, Darrin Houff, of Asheboro; sister, Celia Davis, of Greensboro; brother, Sidney M. Jenkins and wife, Jano, of McLeansville; grandchildren, Cydney Jenkins, Stone Jenkins; and his four beloved Shih-Tzus, Buffy, Chelsea, Ginger and Tiffany.

The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Sunday, November 1, 2009 and other times at the home.
